The CUSTODIAN is financed by the European EEA Grants fund, and has an amount of around 900M€ available to implement a monitoring system of fishermen’s buoys. The CUSTODIAN project will run for 18 months. The consortium has 6 entities (4 companies and 2 non-business entities in the R&D system). ISEL / FIT has its activities focused on smart sensorization, data analysis and creation of predictive models.
Prof. Nuno Cota mentioned “O projeto consiste em que desenvolver uma infraestrutura, não é só um dispositivo, é uma infraestrutura, que, além de permitir fazer a monitorização das boias dos pescadores, permite também fazer a deteção da perda de redes de pesca ou de outras artes de pesca”.
